Since we’ve got to Queensland, it has become quite apparent that my wardrobe is a bit too full of thick clothes to be comfortable in this climate, and it’s only set to get hotter while we travel south and then into the centre. I needed a new wardrobe and after some advice from Billy and Aunty Mary we headed into Southport to take a look in the Op Shops (charity shops to those from the UK).

I needed summer clothes, but I needed them cheap and I wasn’t disappointed, 4 tops, a lovely skirt and a pair of boardshorts later, all for under $30 (£17) and I’m completely fitted out for the rest of my trip and I can leave my jumpers and long trousers here. All the clothes I’ve bought are really good quality and much better than the cheap stuff you get in the supermarkets here. Bargain!

After a hard morning shopping, we came back and relaxed in the pool before enjoying rissoles for tea followed by strawberry pavlova. We are truly being spoilt.
